A 19th Century sword known as a Parang Nabur from Kalimantan (Borneo).

As usual for this type of sword it is wonderfully balanced, and a pleasure to hold. The hilt is a large piece of horn, chequered and decorated, fitted with a shaped iron pommel, brass ‘D’ guard, bolster and quillion.

The characteristic blade is very well made, with crisp clean fullers, and Kilij style stepped spine, and an unusual cut away tip. Probably the original scabbard, with a contemporary covering.
